Peter Shattock, VW Beetle, Outlaw Flat Four

The project was to install a Formula 3 style sequential shift Hewland gearbox  to replace the VW item. This is early in the project with the car on the surface table and the fabricated uprights on a jig.

The uprights had been designed using ARRC's IronCad system .....

.... and then built on a separate jig. The uprights incorporate upper and lower suspension attachment points and an arm to adjust toe-in.

Engine and gear box in place ready to position the suspension and build to customer supplied geometry

Suspension in place and adjusted to desired height

Gearbox cradle with pick up points and suspension arms fabricated but not fully welded to check geometry again.

Finished suspension in place with coil-over in place and top mount built.
